Description

This American supplied Mercedes 250se came off the production line in early 1966

As is often the case with American cars there isn't any early history. The American's have such a strong car culture and look after their cars so well, it is a shame therefore that they don't have the same pre-requisite of recorded history as we tend to on this side of the Atlantic

Our records show that by 1988 this lovely Mercedes had found its way to Miami Florida

One can quite easily imagine this car taking all the attention on Ocean Drive whilst parked next to countless Cadillac's or Buick's, certainly the Dark Tobacco colour is one of the very finest choices

The car was imported to the UK in 2004 by a lady called Mrs Cousins, all the import papers are of course still in the file showing the exact date as the 14th of May 2004

Thereafter the car went to see our good friends Steve Redfearn, regular followers of ours may already know that Mr Redfearn used to train the engineers at Mercedes-Benz before starting his own business

There was a bill for £2500 (a mighty sum for 2004) in return for which Redfearn's carried out a full service and inspected the whole car greasing the suspension, fitting new engine & gearbox mounts, new brakes, track rod end, steering damper etc etc

After this date there is a full and continuous file of every bit of work done to the car for the last 15 years

Our most recent keeper bought her fairly soon after Mr Redfearn and his team had sure everything up. He himself is a very scrupulous man, ensuring everything that needs doing to his cars is done

She's lived with him, garaged of course, since 2005 and not a single penny has been spared in her upkeep with records diligently kept to produce what is now a very full history file

When he bought her in 2005 she was reading circa 20,000 kilometers, and with his gentle enjoyment of her being supplemented by his other classics she's now risen to a modest 47,848 kilometers

To drive she is as you would expect from a well kept Mercedes of this period; quite excellent, stylish & smooth and so easy too

There are many happy miles to be had in this car for years to come
