Description

Mercedes 190 B W121 1960 for saleThe Mercedes 190 Sedan (W121) was produced between 1956 and 1961. Cars built from 1959 to 1961 are referred to as the Mercedes 190B. The 1959 updates included a wider grille, improved brakes, slimmer taillights, and most importantly, an upgraded chassis and front suspension. These changes gave the car better handling and made it more comfortable than earlier models. In total, 28,463 cars of this type were produced.Exterior: Most parts are believed to still be in their original paint. The dark blue color remains very attractive, showing only a few minor signs of use. The chrome is in stunning original condition, and all the glass on the car is still original as well. It even retains parts of the original stickers with instructions for the break-in period. This W121 was originally ordered with extra headlights along with additional chrome rings on the wheels. The new whitewall tires complement the car beautifully and provide the correct ride height.Although around 170,000 Mercedes W121 cars were produced, including diesel versions, it is rare to see one today. In fact, when searching for a Mercedes 190 sedan, you will likely find far more 190SLs on the market. The reason is that the 190SL was recognized early on as a collector’s car, while most 190 sedans remained in regular use. This example is all original and has covered only 63,500 km.Interior: Inside the Mercedes 190b it is as if time stood still. The car was ordered with extra Mercedes blankets to lay on the seats, and they have been there since the car was new. The headliner is all original and without stains. Every little chrome detail inside this Mercedes is like new. Those very difficult plastic panels on the dashboard and around the windscreens are also perfect, since the car was always stored in a garage away from sunlight. The Mercedes 190b still has the original rubber mats in perfect condition. All instruments and switches are in full working order, even the clock. The vintage Mercedes 190 has a blue theme that starts from the inside of the car and continues to the outside. This lovely interior is very visible through the big, clear glass. Original invoice from Mercedes First and original registration document for Sweden Handbooks, spare parts book Many original invoices from Mercedes for service work Original tools, jack, and spare wheel Fully documented km reading of 63,500 km from 1960 Engine and Technical: Press the start button and the Mercedes engine comes to life instantly, revealing a motor that still feels young and strong. Cars with very low mileage are sometimes the result of having been parked in a garage for decades, which can be detrimental and often requires a small restoration to return them to proper condition. This Mercedes 190b, however, has been regularly driven and kept in traffic throughout its life. Most importantly, it has always been carefully maintained. The oil was changed every year, even if the car was only driven to the technical inspection station and back. In recent years, a stainless-steel exhaust has also been fitted.History: The truly unique history and low kilometer reading of this 1960 Mercedes 190b make it remarkable. It was sold new in Sweden on the 12th of April, 1960. The first owner, born in 1907, kept the car until he passed away in 1993. His brother then took it over until his own passing in 1996. After that, it went to a collector who kept it until 2001, and finally to the current owner, who has had it ever since. If you have a classic Mercedes or BMW that you would like to sell please let us know here.
