This 1956 MG MGA Roadster recently surfaced from a private Dutch collection.
In all my years, I can confidently say that this MGA is one of the best maintained examples I have ever come across.
Finished in a beautiful "Orient Red" exterior over black leather with red piping inside, it is also one of the most attractive.
In my opinion, this early model is the MGA in its purest and most desirable form.
A true English roadster designed primarily for the gentlemen racer.
The MGA is quite an evolution from its "TF" predecessor. In addition to a much more streamlined appearance, the MGA came with independent suspension and rack and pinion steering.
This resulted in a roadster that exuded classic charm and offered unmatched superior handling compared to most of its contemporaries.

Our MGA was fully restored once during its lifetime and this is still very much in evidence.
Both the technical and aesthetic aspects of the restoration were done impeccably at the time. (Photo file of both the complete technical and optical restoration is available).
After the restoration, the car was driven regularly over the years. At the same time, the car has been maintained almost maniacally well.
From a technical point of view, there is no doubt about the extraordinary qualities of this car.
The body and chassis work shows no sign of corrosion, a testament to the careful restoration it received at the time. The 1500CC 4-cylinder engine comes alive at the push of a button and runs smoothly and powerfully.
The car shifts like butter. (The clutch was recently replaced).
The car's excellent handling gives confidence in every corner, so no worries on the suspension side.
The brake system has also been recently refurbished, providing accurate and effective braking.

In terms of looks, there is not much to wish for either.
Aesthetically, this MGA leaves no room for disappointment.
Although it proudly displays some "patina" acquired over the years, it is precisely this uniqueness that enhances its appeal.
The "Orient Red" paint is in good condition and the car has very nice chrome work.
The chrome "knock-off" wire wheels complete the attractive picture on the outside. In addition, the car is equipped with a brand new roof and perfectly functioning sliding windows for those occasional rainy drives.
The interior is a pleasant place to spend time. The black leather seats with red piping have been used but show no serious wear.
There are no missing switches or broken knobs. Everything works perfectly.
In short, a beautiful Roadster ready for a serious classic rally or just a leisurely Sunday drive.
