CURIOSITY/HISTORY VEHICLE: The 1959 MG A 1500 Roadster embodies the eternal appeal of British sports cars. Created to mark a change of pace from the T-Series models, with sleek, aerodynamic and remarkably modern lines for the time, it revolutionized the styling of the MG brand and became a timeless icon.

Girder frame, steel body, rear-wheel drive, inline 4-cylinder B-Series 1489 cm3 engine, rack-and-pinion steering, independent-wheel front suspension while at the rear a rigid bridge with leaf springs. The wheels mounted Lockheed drum brakes and there was a choice of spoked wheels or steel rims.

This roadster and pure driving pleasure: Agile and maneuverable, it won over generations of enthusiasts. The engine delivers brilliant performance, while the open-top experience amplifies every ride. Very few improvement modifications such as: Addition of cortechs on crankshaft and overhauled original shocks to prevent oil leaks in both cases; Differential sprocket/sprocket to lengthen gears resulting in lower RPM; Stainless steel muffler; Oversized radiator to prevent overheating; Tankerite treated tank; Braking system with silicone oil, new wood bottoms and electrical system.

EXTERIOR: Three micro color chips and surface streaks on right corner post. Left post. arrow with small crack.
