Description

THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN OUR ANNEX AND IS AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING - BY APPOINTMENT ONLY / BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Trade-in car. This AC Aceca was delivered new in 1963. It is chassis number AEX796. When we start dissecting the chassis number we learn that the "AE" stands for an AC built with an AC engine (there were also versions with a Bristol engine and even a few cars were fitted with Ford engines). The "X" stands for a car that was intended for Export and then we have the numbers corresponding to the number in production. In total, only 151 AC Aceca's were produced. This example comes from the second owner and he owned the car for more than 50 years. Fans and writers of the AC brand have often described this car as "the missing USA AC Aceca". How a car gets such a title, you ask? Actually quite simple: the car has been owned by its previous owner since 1967 and has been mostly in storage since the mid-1980s. The car was still completely restored in 1976 by the previous owner and a mechanic friend. During that restoration, the engine was also completely overhauled. The car was delivered in 1963 the white and during the restoration in the A car was painted in "Light Sky Blue" for a long time. Due to the fact that the car spent a long time in storage and was also not offered for sale anywhere, many fans of the marque thought that the car was simply lost. However, nothing could be further from the truth. For although the car has been in storage for a long time, the previous owner took many precautions to put the car away properly. The previous owner preventively removed fluids from the car where necessary, and until 2007 he regularly started the car or revved the engine to prevent the block from seizing. Presumably this also contributed to the fact that it took us little effort to get the engine running. So the engine runs, however, the car needs major extensive service. To describe the car as "barnfind" is really too short of the mark. The car certainly needs attention but has not been left to its own devices for a few decades, the condition is simply too good for that as well. The chassis is practically rust free thanks to dry storage. The body has only some light signs of use. The sheet metal is beautifully thin and has correct fits. The "Light Sky Blue"paint has actually suffered the most from years of storage. Most likely, polishing alone for certain spots is no longer sufficient. However, should you wish to preserve the "barnfind look" no more than an extensive polish is needed. The interior is upholstered in black leather and black carpets and is still in good condition with a nice patina. The Aceca is powered by a 1,991-liter six-in-line engine with three carburetors, the engine produces 90 horsepower and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. In all likelihood, the engine is still the same one the factory delivered this car with. Furthermore, the car is in very original condition with the original wire wheels with 56 spokes, the original seats and sun visors the original wood on the dashboard and the original wheel bolts. In conclusion, it is worth mentioning that the AC Aceca comes with a folder with lots of documentation, old license plates and a detailed description that underwrites the fantastic story of this special AC.THIS VEHICLE IS IN OUR DEPENDANCE AND IS ONLY - ONLY / ONLY ON APPOINTMENT TO VISIT.
