Description

motodrome offer this absolutely superb 1968 example of the well-loved Morris 1000 Traveller, this one a Deluxe model finished in Almond Green with porcelain green interior.

Travellers make excellent practical classics – they’re simple, so easy to drive, and very versatile, and this one, having undergone major body restoration and complete wood replacement by Cambrian Classics 2022 to 2024, is among the nicest we’ve ever had in stock.

It comes with a lovely history file. The V5 shows just 2 previous owners, and it lived in Cornwall before the 2nd keeper bought it in 1989, and took it to live in the Dordogne in 2002. The last owner acquired the car in France in 2020, and repatriated it to the UK, where it was reissued with it’s original registration number as shown in the pictures.

The history we have goes back to 1979 with an MOT certificate showing 38000 miles. It’s now showing 28000 miles, so it’s been round the clock once, and the mileage is actually 128000m.

It was first restored for the 2nd owner by a company called Roadsters of Redruth in 1992, which included a full engine and gearbox rebuild, body restoration and new wood.
When the last owner acquired it in 2020, on coming back from France it went to R G Plant in Oxfordshire for major recommissioning work costing over £5000.00. However, by 2022 it was beginning to show it’s age again both structurally and cosmetically, and so the decision was taken to send it to Cambrian Classics for a full structural rebuild, including the aforementioned new wood, over a 2 year period 2022-24, which cost over £11000.00 but makes it the car it is today.

All the bills for the above are available for inspection.

Cambrian Classics last serviced it as part of the restoration in 2024 at 27585 miles, and it’s seen minimal use since.

It’s a rare opportunity to acquire a Traveller that’s been properly re-done by a known, respected restorer. All it needs now is a new owner who’s going to enjoy and appreciate it

On our own website, you’ll find our usual two videos: a walkaround appraisal, and driving impressions, which form part of the description. .
