Description

The Nissan Murano 3.5 V6 debuted in 2002 as one of Nissan’s first crossovers designed specifically for the North American market. The model was developed on the FF-L platform, which was also used for the Nissan Altima and Maxima. Nissan aimed for a design that combined the comfort and handling of a passenger car with the higher seating position and practical shape of an SUV. The Murano 3.5 V6 occupied a unique position within Nissan’s lineup, focusing on a more luxurious and road-oriented interpretation of the SUV segment rather than traditional off-road use.

The first-generation Nissan Murano was produced until 2007 and was relatively rare in Europe, especially in the Netherlands, where it was delivered in limited numbers. The combination of the VQ35DE six-cylinder engine and its rounded body design gave the Murano a distinctive presence. This vehicle was manufactured in 2006 and has been registered in the Netherlands since 2009, after being imported from Germany. It represents the later phase of the first generation, which had largely finalized its technical and visual design by 2006 and 2007.

The Murano is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine from Nissan’s VQ engine family, known for its smooth power delivery and versatility. It was paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), emphasizing comfort. The first-generation Murano features a monocoque body, aligning with the emerging crossover concept.

In 2022, the engine was replaced with a remanufactured unit at a cost of €5,300. Approximately €3,000 in maintenance was performed afterward, with invoices available. This recent history is an important aspect of the vehicle’s documentation.

The car shows some signs of wear both inside and out, consistent with its age and usage. Prospective buyers are encouraged to attend the viewing day to assess its condition firsthand.

This Nissan Murano 3.5 V6 combines the distinctive first-generation crossover with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, a recent engine replacement, and Dutch registration since 2009. It exhibits some signs of wear but remains a notable example of its kind.
