Description

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this 1978 Oldsmobile Omega Hatchback! The Omega was first introduced in 1973 when the fuel/emissions crisis was gripping the nation. It was Oldsmobile's most affordable and entry level product at its time. The Omega would see 3 generations spanning up until 1984. This example is a '78 model and a hatchback, next to last year of the 2nd generation and she is far from original. The matte black finish with the large hood scoop makes her look sinister! The black vinyl interior is in good shape and the lightweight racing bucket seats will help hold you in your place. The factory motor is long gone, and a 4-bolt main Jasper built 355ci V8 now lurks in its place. Power is ran down through a 4-speed manual transmission. Some highlights of the build include: Heads are 882 cast with four angle valve job and true 4" bore cast flat top piston bored .30 over. She is rocking Barebones cam, long tube headers w/heat wrap, 2.5" mufflers followed by 3" exhaust right out the side. Also has Edelbrock intake and carburetor, aluminum Streetfighter 50k volt coil, 3-row polished aluminum radiator, polished aluminum pulleys, and aluminum high flow water pump and more. Odometer shows 16k miles and is believed true mileage per the former owners. Mileage on the title supports the claim. Car is stated to have been garage kept for vast majority of its life. Car comes with a lot of original paperwork, manuals and more. The title is clean and clear and ready to be transferred into your name now. These cars certainly don't turn up very often let alone built like this one. Don't miss your chance and call us today! Options on this Omega include: Power Steering, Power Brakes, Vinyl Interior, AM/FM Radio, Seatbelts, Aluminum Wheels, and Radial Tires.
