Motodrome offer this increasingly desirable 1988 Opel Manta GT/E coupe, finished in Carmine Red with grey sports interior

This type B Manta is an original UK RHD example, in standard specification, and has a credible odometer reading of just 24000 miles.

It started life as the dealer demonstrator for Spurlings in London N8, who at the time were the local Vauxhall and Opel main dealer.
A Mr Anthony Slade, of Enfield, bought the car from Spurlings for £8400 in May 1988, when it had done 3260 miles and was just 3 months old, and kept it until 2021, lightly using it.

By 2016 and 23000 miles, it was looking a little tired, had a damaged windscreen, and was surplus to requirements. Mr Slade stored it away as he couldn’t bear to sell it. Finally in 2021 it emerged, and having passed through an unknown party’s hands for 6 months, was acquired by the last owner in 2021 needing light restoration, recommissioning, and a repaint, as the original paint had faded badly.

Four years later it emerged, and was awarded it’s first MOT for 10 years in late May 2025, with no advisories.

History wise, we have the original book pack and service book, old MOT’s back to it’s first, in 1991, the original purchase invoice, and correspondence with Spurlings. Everything we have confirms the mileage.

Apart from a stainless steel exhaust, it remains, as far as we can tell, in completely standard specification.

There’s maybe a little room for further improvement here and there, especially in terms of underbonnet detailing, but find another with this sort of provenance and mileage, especially in the desirable coupe body style.
