The Pininfarina 124 Spider is a classic sports car that was produced by the Italian design firm Pininfarina and sold under the Fiat brand. It was in production from 1966 to 1985, with the 1985 model being the final version of the car. The Pininfarina 124 Spider was designed to be a stylish and sporty roadster that was also practical for everyday use. It was built on a platform shared with the Fiat 124 Sedan, and it featured a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout.
Under the hood, the Pininfarina 124 Spider was powered by a 2,0 liter inline-four engine that produced around 105 horsepower. It was paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and it had good acceleration and top speed for its time. The car had a relatively simple and straightforward design, with a long hood, a short rear deck, and a retractable soft top.
The Pininfarina 124 Spider was known for its excellent handling and responsive steering, which made it a joy to drive on winding roads. It had a comfortable ride and a well-tuned suspension, which made it suitable for long journeys as well as short trips around town. The interior of the car was also comfortable and well-equipped, with supportive seats, a decent amount of storage space, and a modern dashboard with clear instrumentation.
In summary, the Pininfarina 124 Spider was a well-balanced sports car that offered a good combination of performance, style, and practicality. It was a popular choice for buyers who wanted a sporty car that was also comfortable and easy to live with on a daily basis. Despite being discontinued in 1985, the Pininfarina 124 Spider remains a beloved classic that is still highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts today.
Exterior: This very late 1985 Pininfarina 124 Spider looks amazing in the original colour Rosso metallizato. Fitted with the small bumpers from the earlier cars recently. Rolling on a beautiful set of Volumex wheels. The original 14” Pininfarina wheels are also available. A new soft-top in black. Underneath this car is absolutely rust free and has never been welded.
Interior: Very nice black leather seats, and good carpets. Excellent original wood panels, with chrome rings around the instruments to brighten up the instrumentation. Wind protector behind the seats, and the Pininfarina have a little compartment behind the seats that can be locked. There is a modern radio/cd thing.
Engine: The two litre twincam motor in the Pininfarina 124 Spider works just fine. Recent oil change and new timing belt. Just drove it 700 km without any problems. Stainless steel sport exhaust
History: This is a very late Pininfarina 124 Spider, and according to what I have found out there where only 26 cars produced after this one. It was meant to go to America, but stayed in Germany and was registered for the first time 13th of March 1987. It was in Germany until I bought the car in 2007. I sold it to a man here in Sweden. He later sold to another further up north and I bought it back in 2022. In my opinion these cars are the very best 124 Spiders. This car is very rare in this colour and it looks amazing.
