A little history on this Firebird... I first saw it in 1996 in a standalone garage owned by my future wife's father, who was a mechanic and restored cars. The car was in rough shape with severe rust and almost everything on it was worn out. But also, in the garage there was a collection of new OEM body panels and other new misc. components. Unfortunately, he passed away a year before I met my wife, so I was never able to meet him. Once we were married and settled in, I kept everything (including all his old tools) and began the journey of restoration. Over the next three years or so, I engaged with the tremendous people on the First Generation Firebird Forum to help guide me to disassemble, clean, replace, paint, re-assemble, test and ultimately fired it up for the first time! So, for that I am grateful to many of them for my education, as I learned a ton.

I never had the intention of selling it, so I put my blood and sweat into everything I did. I always thought that I would drive it as I got older and life slowed down, but I am not finding that not to be the case. As I cleaned out my garage last week, I had the idea of selling it so that someone else could enjoy it, also to make room in the garage and stop paying collectors insurance :).

The car was taken completely apart and nearly everything has been replaced with new, from all the steering and suspension to new interior. I have a huge stack of receipts for almost all of the parts that were purchased and work that was done. There was ALOT of $$ and my time put into it. Beautifully frame off restored 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible Black with Red HO Racing Stripe, all new black interior and new black convertible top. Born originally with a 350CI and now featuring a Pontiac 400CI, Pontiac #62 cylinder heads and 4 speed automatic 200-4R Transmission. Power Steering and Power Brakes. All front and rear suspension and steering fully restored and replaced with new. Pontiac logo floor mats. All chrome, trim and badging are intact and in good condition. Clean engine compartment and clean, lined trunk. Clean undercarriage featuring dual exhaust that sounds great. The car runs, drives and handles well.
