1982 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am - driving now
Has trailer hitch - wild huh?
A/C converted from R12 to R134a, but needs rebuilding
GREAT RESTORE PROJECT!!! (sale price restored could be as high as $28,000)
This is NOT the Optional Trans Am which had the trouble-plagued "Cross-Fire Injection" version of the engine which used Throttle Body Injection to crank out 165 bhp, hence the ugly thing it has on the hood. THIS COLLECTOR's ITEM has the conventional 5.0L carburetor engine and the hood is nice and symmetrically flat - no stupid hood scoop. She also has no leaking sky lights, and the engine is the preferable Chevrolet engine with solid lifters, rather than the Pontiac engine which was a pain in the, well you know (so says the mechanics thru the years).
PROBABLY the LAST of the original (not the optional) version of the 1982 T/A in EXISTENCE - all you find nowadays are the 'kinght rider' Optional version.
...and yes that is the BAT symbol on her. Every time I drive her, some idiot just has to get a 'selfie' with her... mechanics fight over who gets to work on her... almost sold her to the Beverly Hills Car Club, but with Warner Bros. just down the road, and her with the bat symbols, well...
...thinking about just keeping this one ~ so much history with her and me :-\
(had since 1987 - I'm second owner - out in Oklahoma now)
