Description

The 1965 Porsche 911 stands at the very beginning of one of the most celebrated automotive lineages in history. As the direct successor to the 356, the early short-wheelbase 911s established Porsche’s reputation for precision engineering, lightweight construction, and driver-focused design. Built in limited numbers during its first year of production, the 1965 model is among the purest expressions of the 911 concept

What elevates this particular example far beyond its peers is its extraordinary originality and specification. Its matching-numbers engine, gearbox and body are factory-verified by Porsche Classic, ensuring absolute authenticity — a key criterion for serious collectors. The rare factory sunroof makes this car one of only a handful of such early examples produced, significantly increasing its desirability. Combined with its concours-quality restoration performed by Porsche Center Matosinhos and documented by Porsche Classic Partner Estoril in 2023, this car represents the ideal balance between historic significance and show-ready presentation.

The body has been fully resprayed in its factory-correct Light Ivory, with the restoration extending beyond the exterior. Inside, the cabin has been restored to an equally high standard, featuring authentic black leatherette with Pepita inserts exactly as it was originally delivered, presenting in excellent condition and true to its 1965 specification.

The restoration was fully documented, and a link with over 250 detailed photos of the entire process is available upon request.

The car is registered in Portugal with valid plates and is accompanied by its Porsche Classic Technical Certificate and Kardex , further confirming its authenticity and provenance.
