This example is a Targa and one from a coveted year. This model year is equipped with the more powerful 2.2-liter engine, but still has the classic looks of the first generation (2.0-liter) 911 built up to 1969. This model year Porsche calls the "D-program" and offers the best of both worlds. Because improvements were made with this version, especially on the technical level, it is a popular version. Classic looks, but also a wonderful mile-eater with which you can cross Europe without any problems. Cruising along the Côte d’ Azur with your head in the sun is also possible thanks to the Targa roof. This example (like most) was delivered new in the sunny climate of the United States, so it has remained rust free. In 2016, the car was imported to the Netherlands, where it was recently restored. Since then, the car has driven only 300 kilometers, making it feel like it is in new condition!EXTERIORA picture to behold, as the beautiful paintwork of this 911 is barely dry and comes in the color 'Light Yellow' (color code 6262). The targa roof is the most desirable version, thanks to the possibility of driving open without disturbing the beautiful roofline of the car. Of course, the beautiful Fuchs rims should not be missing. This model is still equipped with the distinctive gold brand and type marking on the car. The windows are slightly tinted, which provides a nicer look and less sunlight in the car. Thanks to the restoration, the optical condition is very good. The paintwork as well as rubbers, windows, lights and chrome work are all in fresh condition. INTERIORThe interior has also been renewed and is therefore in very good condition. Inside the car even smells like new. The interior is in black with half skai leather seats. The comfortable seats have headrests. In the rear there are two child seats. TECHNICALThe 2.2-liter engine was a more powerful engine with more torque compared to the previous 2.0-liter engine. The 6-cylinder boxer engine produced 125 horsepower. An example of an improvement made to the D-Program model is the use of oil nozzles that cool the underside of the pistons. The manual "dog-leg" 5-speed transmission was an option at the time over the standard 4-speed. The underside of the car and under the hood are also in good condition. 4 new Michelin tires have been fitted. The car drives sporty and agile, making it a joy to drive in the mountains. ALGEMENTThe Porsche 911: probably the most famous and legendary sports car ever made. Introduced in 1963 as the successor to the 356 and with over 60 years of production still in production: an ongoing model that is constantly developed and evolved in a style unlike any other car. The 911 is a relatively light and streamlined 2+2 rear-wheel-drive car with the engine in the rear. The more powerful 2.2-liter 911 was built in 1970 and in 1971 and was available as T, E and S with different power characteristics. Although the T was the entry-level model, this version is still considered sufficiently powerful and best driving for everyday use. Further, the 2.2 generation was mainly focused on weight saving, think about the use of aluminum bumpers. What is also seen as a big advantage is the anti-corrosion treatment that came standard ex-factory for longer body life. The manual version was optionally available with 5-speed transmission. During the production years, the model continued to improve, the main difference being an improved targa roof on the D-program. The changes concerned the sealing of the roof against the windshield, side windows and roll bar. The Targa was very popular in the year 1970, with 31% of all 911s built that year.Porsche 911T 2.2-litre Targa D-Program 1971- Matching Numbers- Only 300 kilometers driven after restoration- D-Program with more powerful 2.2-litre engine and further developments- Optional 5-speed manual gearbox- Beloved “Fuchs” rims- Tinted windows- Most sought-after Targa model- Beautiful special color 'Light Yellow' HISTORYA dream for every Porsche enthusiast: a 911.
