Description

The roof was removed, and the conversion to the 993 Speedster was carried out according to factory specifications. A Strosek hardtop made of Kevlar carbon was supplied to the manufacturer and permanently mounted. Matter GmbH constructed a roll cage, which was then installed. The conversion to the 993 Speedster was completed in the spring of 1994. In 1996, the body was further aerodynamically optimized. A rear spoiler from the 993 Turbo prototype, without the raised side edges, was used. The car also received the front spoiler from the 993 GT2. The 993 Speedster was fitted with three-piece original "Speedline for Porsche" 8.5J x 18 tires at the front and 10.5J x 18 tires on the rear axle, with polished hubs and titanium bolts with spacers. The distinctive sound results from a special exhaust system with two tailpipes. In 2001, the following modifications were made:
A more powerful engine (M64.20) from the 993 Carrera RS with 3.8 liters of displacement and 400 Nm of torque was installed. A new 6-speed transmission was also installed. The engine now runs on two valves per cylinder. The camshafts are driven by double chains and an intermediate shaft. The warm air duct was redesigned (without a fan). The rear axle swing arms from the Turbo model were integrated, allowing the Speedline wheels to be mounted on the rear axle without spacers. The front and rear wheel arches were widened, and a front strut brace was installed. A completely new exhaust system from Cargraphic with stainless steel heat exchangers was installed. A dished Momo sports steering wheel with yellow stitching also found its place in the interior. Original equipment from the 964 Carrera RS M 001 (carpet model) with original three-tone leather-trimmed profiled bucket seats. The fuel mixture is electronically controlled by the Bosch Motronic 2.1 and features sequential injection. The vehicle has a German TÜV (Technical Inspection Certificate) and is road legal.
