This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Online Auction - 26th June on Thursday the 26th of June. Background:Building upon the foundation of its 996 predecessor, the 997 generation of Porsche's iconic sports car introduced notable refinements, particularly in its aesthetic design. The cabin and bodywork received substantial updates, the most immediately apparent being the return to the traditional 'bug-eye' headlights – a welcome departure from the controversial 'fried egg' design of the 996. Standard equipment now included larger 18" wheels and while subtle enhancements were made to engine output, the underlying engineering principles of the 997 remained closely aligned with those of the car it replaced, despite the many revisions implemented.
The Car:Delivered to its first owner via Porsche Centre Silverstone on 10th December 2004, this car was among the very first 997-generation 911s to arrive on British soil – an excellent Christmas present, no doubt.
Finished in Metallic Black, the car shows relatively few signs of wear, especially considering its age and the fact that much of its life was spent in London. There are a few stone chips, though nothing overly noticeable and a small pressure point on one of the rear arches.
It sits on its standard 18" Porsche Carrera 3 wheels, which have recently been refurbished. Originally silver, the current owner chose to refinish them in satin grey – the result is a set of wheels in immaculate condition, with the work completed just a month ago.
Inside, the car presents exceptionally well – more akin to one with less than half the mileage. There is only minor wear on the driver's seat bolster and a small mark on the glovebox. All buttons, from the radio to the steering wheel and window switches, show almost no wear and remain fully functional. The dash screens retain all their pixels, and the sunroof is also in full working order.
Underneath, the car appears to be in similarly impressive condition, especially for its age and mileage – clean and clearly well cared for.
The car's service records are impressive and thorough at both Porsche main agents and specialists. A full breakdown can be found below. Supplied with two keys.
If you’re seeking the perfect summer daily for scenic drives home from work, you’d be hard pressed to find a better candidate.
