In 1971, Rolls-Royce debuted a luxurious new convertible built on the basis of the Silver Shadow Coupe. Accompanied by an evocative name, the Corniche represented the pinnacle of exclusivity for decades, becoming a must-have among the leading members of the jet set.The melodious French term "Corniche" refers to the evocative coastal roads of the French Riviera, perfectly summing up the appearance and aristocratic character of the model whose grandeur and sumptuous cabin still turn the heads of onlookers as it passes by.
Constantly updated throughout production it remained on the list for more than two decades, exiting the scene in 1995. The Corniche was also sold under the Bentley brand name, as until 1998 the brand was part of the Rolls-Royce group. The "Winged B" model did not become known as the Continental until 1984, anticipating the second series.
