1922 Rolls Royce 40/50 HP Silver Ghost London to Edinburgh Tourer.
Chassis number: 35RG
Registration number: EL1743
Coming to us from a private overseas collector who keeps the car stored in the UK in between sparing use for rallies etc. This Silver Ghost is in impeccable condition with midnight blue paintwork in perfect condition & buttoned beige hides to the seats. The car also has a recent hood & full-length tonneau cover.
The body is a rakish narrow London to Edinburgh style put on in 1975 by Wilkinsons of Derby. The car carries its original registration as issued by Bournemouth County Council. The chassis falls into the P series of 40/50 Hp production, and the RG chassis numbers ran from 1 to 43 of which six are known to survive.
As a 1922 car, this is an exact wonderful copy of the typical 1913 London to Edinburgh Tourers at a fraction of the price of an original. It makes an elegant car for long-distance touring & has completed a good number of Rolls Royce long-distance events including the re-enactment of the famed London to Edinburgh run in top gear only.
The car is in perfect running condition & has been looked after without regard to expense with the last bill being in the £16,000 region. A history file on the car will be available at the time of viewing.
