For sale is a piece of rally and Subaru history, specifically one of 555 units built of the STI Type RA V-Limited Version 4 (the last version produced in only 555 units and exclusively for the Japanese market). This is one of the extremely rare examples that has been professionally converted to left-hand drive (LHD).
A tremendous amount of technical work was done to get the Subaru TÜV-approved and to have it registered for German roads under a special permit, maintaining as much of its original condition as possible.
As part of the TÜV approval around 2200 miles / 3500 km ago, a complete technical overhaul was carried out:
Complete engine overhaul by HK-Power with the installation of a Haltech ECU, HK-Power exhaust with HJS sports catalyst, and Invidia rear muffler.
Installation of a KW Version 3 suspension with replacement of all suspension bushings with polyurethane and replacement of the entire rear axle including the carrier.
Overhaul of the braking system with new brake discs, pads, and new steel braided brake lines.
K&N air filter and oil change for the transmission and rear axle differential.
New Exedy Stage 2 clutch.
New 17-inch OZ Ultraleggera wheels with Pirelli PZ4 tires.
All the modifications made for TÜV approval are detailed in a comprehensive report.
The paint and bodywork have been restored as part of a rolling restoration and are in excellent, rust-free condition.
The Subaru has matching numbers for the chassis, engine and transmission.
The restoration, bureaucratic work, and partial restoration cost far more than the asking price.
The current total mileage of the Subaru is 117.000 miles / 188.000 km.
Serious inquiries only from enthusiasts or collectors who appreciate the value of such a car. The Subaru comes with the original OZ Superturismo wheels shown in the pictures, the aforementioned OZ Superleggera wheels (both with near-new tires), small parts, and a pair carbon fiber side mirrors (not mounted, not registered).
A few technical details that distinguish the Type RA V-Limited from other STI models:
Shortened, reinforced 5-speed gearbox with DCCD.
Quicksteer 13:1 steering.
Water-cooled intercooler.
Reinforced chassis with thinner outer panels and lighter glazing for weight savings.
Reinforced/better engine components.
Rally-style roof vent.
The Subaru is located in southern Germany.
