Description

motodrome offer this 1973 Triumph Stag 3.0 V8 Mark Two manual/overdrive, finished in Mallard Green with black trim and black mohair hood

Usual MK2 Stag spec - fitted with overdrive, power steering, electric windows, mohair hood, alloy wheels and sill trims.

Also fitted with the conversion to Holley carburettor, giving better response, economy and reliability, thermostatic electric fan, oil pressure gauge, and rear seat belts,

Mallard Green is a rare colour for Stags (only available for 2 years) and personally I think it suits the lines of these stylish 4-seater convertibles nicely

Odometer reading 37000 miles, which from the history and old MOT’s we have is likely 137000 in reality.

It’s had one owner since 2014.

The file of history, comprising bills and old MOT’s, goes back to 1993 and 84000 miles. It underwent an engine rebuild in 2005 at circa 125000 miles, and further major engine work to replace the rear main oil seal in 2020, at which point a new clutch was fitted as is good workshop practice.

I’d describe it, in motor trade terms, as a good ‘5 footer’. By this, I mean it looks great from a distance, but up close there’s quite a lot of microblistering in the paint on the horizontal surfaces.

So it’s now show queen, but it does have an excellent interior, seems sound structurally, and drives very well indeed with seemingly strong mechanicals and that lovely soundtrack that a Stag fitted with the correct Triumph 3.0 V8 engine makes.

So it’s a very useable example (and is priced accordingly) in the best manual overdrive spec, that can be used and enjoyed for what it is, without being too precious about it.

Comes with our usual 6 month warranty

On our own website, you’ll find our usual 2 videos: a walkaround appraisal, and driving impressions, which form part of the description.
