Description

The Triumph TR6 is and remains an impressive sports car in several respects. This is not only due to the delightful inline six-cylinder engine with its impressive sound, but also because of the bold, Karmann-designed styling. The large wheels, direct steering, and beautiful sound make for a wonderful driver's car. The Triumph TR6 was produced from 1968 to 1976, including this Sapphire Blue Triumph TR6 produced in 1974. It is one of the last models in which the turn signals were mounted above the front bumper. In the final two years of production, the TR6 sat slightly higher on its wheels and the turn signals were placed below the front bumper.

This unrestored Triumph TR6, in very solid and honest condition, was delivered to the United States in 1974 and registered in the Netherlands in 1991. Since then, the car has been maintained with great care by various owners. And all owners agreed that the car had to remain as original as possible. The result is a particularly honest and solid Triumph TR6 in original and unrestored condition, which is technically in very good shape. Various maintenance invoices are present, showing that no expense was spared on maintenance.

Naturally, the bodywork shows various signs of use and age. The stunning Sapphire Blue color has become somewhat dull and slightly discolored over the years. The various chrome and trim parts are no longer like new, but are still in good condition. This also applies to the various rubber parts and finishes. The chrome luggage rack is not only a stylish accessory but also very practical. What stands out most is the exceptionally solid condition of the bodywork.

The interior naturally also shows the familiar signs of ‘patina’. At one point, the decision was made to install different sports seats. Various signs of use are visible, but in general, the interior is also still in good and neat condition. The woodwork in the dashboard shows signs of age but is still completely intact and original. The stylish wooden steering wheel is a perfect match for the interior. The seats are comfortable and firm, and the rest of the interior upholstery is also still in good condition.

Under the hood lies a beautiful and impressive engine block. The 2,498 cc inline six-cylinder not only produces a beautiful sound but also delivers sufficient power (approximately 105 hp) for a wonderfully sporty drive. It is clearly visible that this car has been very well maintained. And this is also noticeable when driving this stylish open sports car. The car steers particularly comfortably, and shifting is smooth and precise. The brakes feel firm and solid. In short, a delightful classic sports car, this Triumph TR6. For those who appreciate originality, this is a very interesting car. But also for someone looking for a perfect basis for a Triumph TR6 to be restored.
