Description

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at the Practical Classics Classic Car and Restoration Show 2025 on Saturday the 22nd of March - Sunday the 23rd of March, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT.
Very early and rare TR7 FHC 4-speed in Mimosa Yellow with black cord trim
Believed to have been originally left-hand drive (later converted) and destined for the North American market but instead was dispatched to the Experimental Fleet at Triumph in Coventry. Retains its US-spec bumpers, steering wheel and marker lights
According to its Heritage Certificate it was built in 1974 but not registered until 17/03/1976
Purchased in 2024 by our vendor having spent the previous 15 years in a private Collection, its owner at the time believing that it may be the earliest surviving TR7
Recommissioned later in 2020 by Dennis Vessey, the renowned Triumph engineer. Work carried out included a rolling-road set up, carburettor overhaul, new engine and exhaust mounts and a complete new clutch assembly
Currently indicating 84,547 miles. MOT until March 2026 issued with no advisories
A rare, early car - not concours but very well presented and extremely useable and fun as is
