Description

When the DB4 was announced in 1958, Aston Martin had already established a reputation for sporting performance, elegance and a quality that characterized truly top-of-the-line cars’s. This reputation was even before James Bond appeared on the scene. With an entirely new design and with bodywork of Italian style by Touring, the DB4 was truly a success.During a five-year production period, the DB4 underwent several modifications. These changes led enthusiasts to split the various modifications into five different series. All series featured the brand-new six-cylinder engine, which produced about 240 horsepower. The third series we offer here can be identified by its modified taillights. Other changes included an electric tachometer. The third series, produced in 1961, is ééone of the rarest DB4s for sale, and even rarer as a left-hand drive variant at that. Our DB4 is a third series and comes from 1961. We are talking about an original left-hand drive car, of which only 60 were built. Also, this Aston Martin has the high performance ‘Special Series’ engine. This DB4 underwent a complete restoration and overhaul by Aston Martin Work Service in the United Kingdom. This restoration and overhaul work is fully documented, including accompanying photos’s. We supply this documentation with this car. Overall, we can say that this DB4 is in a good and very clean condition. Due to the restoration work, the exterior looks good. The color is ‘Dover White’ and has a deep gloss with nice finish. The Touring bodywork has good fits and the rubber parts look reasonably clean. The glass work is in very good condition, as is the chrome work. Think of the latter, for example, the headlight trim rings and bumpers. The beautiful wire wheels are also in very nice condition. The underside of the car reflects the restoration work that this DB4 underwent. Thereby you can assume that the car is in a good condition. In the interior we find leather upholstery executed in ‘Magnolia’ with ‘Oxblood piping’. The leather looks beautiful and feels high-quality. The carpets are also of high quality and the instrument clocks look practically like new. Some accessories have been added to increase comfort and safety levels. Thus, we find a third brake light and an interior mirror for good rear visibility. All in all, driving this car is a great experience. The DB4 has always been known as a car with some degree of comfort, but fortunately the car still has a sporty handling. The fact that this example has the high performance ‘Special Series’ engine makes it even sportier. The sound produced by this engine must be heard in real life; it is truly an amazing experience with plenty of emotion. The Aston Martin DB4 still offers an unëvated driving experience that modern cars simply cannot match. Are you interested in this Aston Martin DB4?
