1974 Volkswagen Beetle 1200 Custom (1,776cc)

In one form or another Volkswagen's venerable Beetle was produced until 2003, resulting in a production run that spanned 65 years
The striking example presented here was first registered on 14/03/1974 and is presented in a custom mixture of Candy Purple paint and decals, with Porsche style ‘Fuchs’ wheels to match 
Won by the consigning owner in a competition in October of 2022 and has been used occasionally on better weather days
The interior has likewise been customised with Recaro bucket seats, pistol grip gear knob, electric windows and uprated sound system
We are informed that during the rebuild a more powerful 1,776cc engine was fitted, further uprated with Engle camshafts
