Authentic buggy, designed, drawn and built in 1978 by Yves Sunhill and his team for the first edition of the Paris-Dakar in 1979. It is autographed by Y.Sunhill, H. Auriol, C.Neveu and L.Alphand. Full tubular frame. Original VW front, rear and gearbox and 1800 Alpine engine (re-motorized with a more reliable and much lighter VW since the 1990s).
This prototype is considered one of the icons of the Paris-Dakar and was reproduced in a model in the 2000s. The buggy was completely dismantled, restored (made more reliable and modernized) in 2020 by the Nantes Prestige Autos (NPA) garage, to run the first edition of the Dakar
Classic of 2021 in Saudi Arabia where he will emerge victorious in all categories with NPA in charge of assistance (no breakage, smoothly driven over 7000km). Decoration conforming to 1979, inspired by Louis Feraud's haute couture collection, restored by the Septem workshop.
-Tubular frame: reinforced, prepared and equipped with an integral aluminum shoe then repainted.
-720 kg empty with fuel. Ultra light: very efficient and less mechanical stress. -Tanks: 2x 47 liters (over 550km of autonomy)
-Original VW 181 front gear: reinforced, made adjustable, equipped with high and low stops, disc brakes, dual steering gearboxes and custom-made P2S 3-way shock absorbers.
- Reinforced 3x3 trailing arm rear train: fitted with 3-way shock absorbers made to measure by P2S with hydraulic stops and disc brakes.
-Brakes: 4 discs, double MC, aviation hoses and AV / AR distributor.
- BR Concept engine: VW type1 aircooled prepared in 2110 cm3 (76mm vilo), low compression (RV 8.64 for any type of fuel without pb), 215 flywheel, 009 electronic ignition, Weber 44IDF dual body mono, full-flow (radiator and external FRAM filter plus pipe heating), AAC Engle VZ14. Super reliable, very torquey, for around 130hp.

-Gearbox: VW type 1, rebuilt, reinforced (gears, flanges, lubrication), re-staged and equipped with a diff. Quaife limited slip and reinforced mix 181 gimbals.
-Wiring harness: completely new, equipped with modern fuses, relays and switches. -Dashboard: complete and consistent with the time (Porsche 356 tacho and needle gauges). -Co-pilot panel: equipped for regulation (Tripmaster 303 Geotrip V5 with repeater and wheel probe plus support and Trippy power supply, GPS and Smalltrack) and tire pressure monitoring
- Bucket seats, upholstery, soft top and safety nets made to measure
-Security: 6-point harness, manual fire extinguisher, new automatic fire extinguisher up to date FIA
