This Karmann Ghia has the sleek, smaller bumpers that add to the beautiful round shapes of this Volkswagen. Nicely executed in two-tone colors , White Wall tires , Koni shock absorbers. The interior has black skai upholstery and is in nice original condition.... Volkswagen's assignment to coachbuilder Karmann from Osnabrück, to build a stylish and elegant car for Volkswagen, resulted in the Karmann Ghia. For this, Karmann turned to the Italian design firm Ghia of Turin, to design a sports car. Ghia had already created a design for the American automobile manufacturer Chrysler in 1953. However, this had never been used. The design was modified so that the model would fit on a slightly widened bottom plate of a Volkswagen Beetle. From November 1, 1957, a convertible version was also offered.
