Volvo 1800 S from 1966, a rare Swedish-sold, right-hand-drive example with exceptional provenance. The car was sold new by the Volvo dealer Bildeve AB in Helsingborg to its first and only owner, Bertil Wigurd, who kept it from new until his passing. It was specially ordered with right-hand drive due to Bertil’s frequent stays in England during his studies and his intention to continue visiting the UK regularly. Although Sweden switched to right-hand traffic in 1967, the car remained in its original configuration throughout its life.Bertil later became a senior lecturer in economics at Lund University and used the car sparingly, often cycling to work. This careful ownership is clearly reflected in the car’s preserved and honest condition. The car remains unrestored and fully drivable, showing attractive patina. The exterior appears largely in original paint with minor touch-ups. The leather interior is original, complete, and well preserved, with normal age-related wear. In April 2021, a major service was carried out at Bildeve in Helsingborg, including a comprehensive brake overhaul, ignition components, and general servicing. The car starts easily and runs very well. This is a highly interesting one-owner Volvo 1800 S with a unique specification, strong documentation, and a story that is difficult to replicate. We assist with worldwide export and transport.
