Under the hood is the powerful B20 engine known for its sky-high reliability. The E in the P1800E stands for Electronic Injection. This means that the engine is equipped with a D-Jetronic injection system made by Bosch. The car has a factory overdrive which allows easy cruising on the highway. The car has an extensive history and documentation. The Volvo P1800 was designed by the Swede Pelle Peterson who at the time worked at Frua, an Italian coachwork company. The first six thousand P1800s were built by Jensen in England due to a shortage of production capacity in Volvo's own factory in Sweden. In 1968 production moved to Sweden and the P1800 was renamed P1800S, the S for Sverige (Sweden). The Volvo P1800 was made famous by the 1960s series The Saint. In which Roger Moore appeared in his white 1962 Volvo P1800.
