*Volvo PV444 "L-series" – Only had 3 owners since 1956*We go back to the 1940s, Volvo is at a crossroads after a major global event. Big luxury cars with six cylinders and a separate chassis? That was old-fashioned even then. Volvo needed a plan and that plan became the PV444.The PV444 was Volvo’s first monocoque car, meaning it had no separate chassis but a completely self-supporting body. To learn how to do that, they bought a 1939 Hanomag and took it completely apart to see exactly how it was put together. In terms of design, Volvo looked not only to its neighbors, but also across the big ocean. Those beautiful convex shapes, the split windshield; the American influences are immediately apparent. However, that split windshield is not just a gimmick. Both parts are made of laminated glass, an early safety innovation that is typical of Volvo. Safety first!*Beautiful example in very good condition*The example at Gallery Aaldering concerns the L-series, the last version of the iconic 444-series. This Volvo is in restored and refurbished condition and has been repainted in the original color Pearl Grey, mét a neat matching gray/brown cloth interior. Neat, stylish and original. The car has been fully restored and the body has been repainted and carefully reassembled with the original parts. That means géén problems with fake parts, but authentic as it should be. That can be seen and felt everywhere in this Volvo.*Only had three owners!*This example has only had three owners since 1956! That's really special and we don't see that often. Treasured all these years, and you can see that in the condition of the car. The documentation? That is in order. Photographs of the restoration, invoices, and of course the confirmation of Volvo Heritage register that this is a matching numbers and matching colors. Quietly strumming along dyke roads, and then when you hear that charming engine sound, you really enjoy it. The gearbox shifts wonderfully smoothly, and with that solid Volvo build, it feels surprisingly solid for a car from the 1950s.*In a nutshell*This is a PV444 as we like to see it: restored with original parts and details, well documented and with that charming look that immediately takes you back to the 1950s. Whether you are a seasoned Volvo enthusiast or just fall for those timeless looks, this PV444 "L-series" is a real hit.And with only three owners and a thorough restoration? This is one of those’classics that you prefer to park in your garage, but which you also get into every time with a big smile.*Contact Gallery Aaldering*Are you charmed by this nice Volvo?
