This Audi was delivered new in Germany in 1984. In 1998, the car was registered in the Netherlands in Nieuwegein. The first Dutch owner was, at the time, the president/secretary of the Audi Coupé/Quattro Club. An extensive article about this car appeared in AutoWeek (issue 3-2005). In 2008, the Quattro came into the possession of the previous owner, who owned the car for approximately 15 years. Since its registration in the Netherlands, the car has thus had only two owners. Unlike many other examples, this one has remained exceptionally original. Thanks to its year of manufacture, the Audi is exempt from road tax in the Netherlands. The car can be delivered with a new APK, so it is completely road-ready for the next owner. The car comes with a comprehensive documentation folder, including, among other things:• Numerous maintenance invoices• APK reports• Manuals and informational documentation• A copy of the original German FahrzeugbriefEXTERIORThis Audi Quattro is finished in the classic Alpine White. The white paint complements the original 15-inch white wheels beautifully. The bodywork looks neat, and the paint is in good condition. The plastic parts, lights, windows, and weatherstripping are also in good condition. What stands out is the car’s original condition, especially considering its age and how well it has been maintained.INTERIORThe interior features the characteristic brown checkered fabric upholstery, which is also in neat and original condition. The car also features a gray vinyl headliner. The entire interior, including the upholstery and the dashboard, is in very good and original condition. The backseat can accommodate two additional passengers. The trunk has space for the spare tire. A distinctive feature is the digital instrument panel, which displays, among other things, the average speed and the estimated number of liters in the fuel tank. The car also features a fully functional Grundig radio-cassette player. Equipment includes, among other things:• LCD display (digital instrument panel), fully functional• Air conditioning• Power windows• Power-adjustable mirrors• Heated seats• Rear window defrosterTECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSUnder the hood is the well-known 2,144 cc five-cylinder turbocharged engine with an output of 200 pk. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The engine runs well and the transmission shifts smoothly. The valve stem seals were recently replaced by a Quattro specialist. The permanent all-wheel drive, combined with the turbocharged engine, provides excellent traction and the characteristic driving experience for which the Quattro is known. The Audi features a manually engageable center differential and rear differential via a pull knob on the center console. Thanks to the available invoices, the maintenance history is easy to track. In 2025, major maintenance was performed for approximately €20,000, during which the head gasket, crankshaft bearings, pistons, and oil pump were replaced, among other things. The engine and transmission were also overhauled. The wheels are fitted with premium-brand tires that still have sufficient tread depth. The underside of the car has been dry-ice blasted (see also our extensive photo gallery). The car drives, brakes, and shifts well. It is equipped with a high-quality Scorpion stainless steel sports exhaust, featuring the original Scorpion markings and date code 7-97. This period-correct sports exhaust gives the five-cylinder engine its characteristic, sporty sound. The car is also equipped with:• Disengageable ABS• Engageable limited-slip differentials• Front and rear fog lightsGENERALThe name “Ur” refers to the fact that this is the original Quattro: the first passenger car to successfully introduce all-wheel drive on a large scale. Only 11,452 Ur Quattros were built between 1980 and 1991.The combination of permanent all-wheel drive and a turbocharged engine revolutionized rally racing in the early 1980s. The Quattro quickly achieved great success and became a legend. The technology was later applied to other Audi models as well, and the name “quattro” remains inextricably linked to the brand.A true rally legend and one of the most iconic Audis ever built. Thanks to its complete documentation and recent technical upgrades, this is an attractive example for enthusiasts or collectors.1984 Audi Ur Quattro• Well documented• Rarely seen in original condition• Comprehensive service history available• Only two Dutch owners since 1998• LCD display in perfect working order• Alpine White• 2144 cc 5-cylinder turbo with 200 pk• Approximately €20,000 invested over the past 2 years, including engine and transmission overhaulsHISTORY/DOCUMENTATIONThe Audi Quattro, also known to enthusiasts as the Ur Quattro, is regarded as one of the most iconic models in Audi’s history. This Audi was delivered new in Germany in 1984.
