The Audi R8 was introduced in 2007 and is considered Audi’s first true supercar. With this model, Audi distanced itself from its image as a manufacturer of primarily reliable and technically advanced passenger cars and launched a mid-engine sports car designed to compete in the highest segment. The Audi R8 4.2 V8 FSI R-Tronic Pro+ utilized the well-known 4.2-liter V8 from Audi’s sporty lineup, which also included the RS4; however, in the R8, this engine was positioned differently and took on a different character within a completely newly developed platform.
The design of the Audi R8 was technically distinctive within the brand’s lineup. The aluminum space frame, mid-engine layout, and quattro all-wheel drive formed the basis of a car focused not only on performance but also on stability and balance. The engine is visible from the outside through the glass hood, a detail that emphasizes the technical placement of the powerplant. In the market, the Audi R8 positioned itself as a relatively practical supercar, with performance that brought it close to established names in the segment.
This Audi R8 Quattro was delivered new in Belgium in February 2008. The car subsequently had two Belgian owners, after which it was added to a collection at an Audi dealership in April 2013 and resold in April 2016. The Audi R8 has been registered in the Netherlands since May 29, 2018.
The Audi R8 4.2 V8 FSI R-Tronic Pro+ is equipped with an automated six-speed transmission operated via steering wheel paddles. The model combines the mechanical basis of a manual transmission with the ease of operation of an automatic. In 2016, the transmission was replaced due to a defect, marking an important milestone in the car’s service history.
The car features leather-upholstered sport seats, air conditioning, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system. This equipment aligns with the R8’s positioning as a supercar that is practical for everyday use. A document covering the period from 2008 to 2018 is available, containing all maintenance and repair invoices. This 45-page document lists the maintenance work performed at each mileage. There are also numerous receipts from its time in the Netherlands since 2018.
The service booklet contains the following stamps: new on February 8, 2008, at Audi Center Zaventem in Belgium; on October 27, 2010, at 44,019 km at Audi Centrum Tilburg; undated at 50,201 km at Audi Centrum Tilburg; on March 2, 2018, at 57,760 km at Audi Centrum Tilburg; on April 21, 2020, at 64,050 km at Muntstad Audi in De Meern; on June 13, 2022, at 76,184 km at Automobielbedrijf Van Mierlo in Asten; on June 11, 2024, at 96,069 km at Van Mierlo in Asten; and on June 16, 2025, at 105,515 km at Van Mierlo in Asten. It is noted that two shock absorbers show slight signs of leakage. Additionally, the Magnetic Ride system requires attention, and further inspection is recommended. These issues are part of the car’s known concerns.
The Audi R8 4.2 V8 FSI R-Tronic Pro+ combines the first-generation R8 with a 4.2-liter V8 engine, quattro all-wheel drive, an R-Tronic transmission, and a documented maintenance history spanning multiple countries and years.
