600 horsepower were yesterday: The ABT RS7 LEGACY EDITION 1,000 HP * makes a quantum leap in drive technology.
In addition to the visual conversion to the expressive Legacy Edition, the engine is transformed into an absolute primal force. Because here our engineers have outdone themselves with the innovative IWI technology.
Due to the high demands on the engine and combustion engine with such high loads that arise when the enormous forces of 1,000 HP (736 kW) and approx. 1150 Nm are released, our engineers were faced with a major challenge. They found the solution in innovative technology and in the redesign of pistons, connecting rods and other engine components.
Engine conversion in detail:
Carbon intake system with enlarged turbo air inlets
Modified turbocharger with enlarged compressor wheel and adapted bearings
Modified pressure sensors up to 4 bar boost pressure
Intercooler with enlarged air inlets in the front apron
Indirect water/ethanol injection (IWE or IWI) on the throttle valves, tank in the trunk recess, filling via an additional tank neck behind the tank flap
ABT specially developed forged pistons with compression reduction and reinforced connecting rods as well as reinforced piston pins

All components were extensively tested and checked by our experts on our certified engine test bench and on the racetrack.
The indirect water ethanol injection is supplied via an additional tank in the trunk recess, which is filled via an additional filler neck that is located directly next to the standard filler neck for normal fuel refueling. Ideally, i.e. with appropriate driving style, the consumption of the ABT-IWI liquid corresponds to 0.5l per 100 kilometers. This corresponds to a range of up to 3,000 kilometers with a fully used tank volume of 15 liters.
