Description

1961 Austin FG 700
This is your “every once in a lifetime chance” to transport your classic car really in period and style.
This very charming and very rare auto transporter is an Austin from 1961 which has been professionally restored some years ago. The truck is fitted with its original 3 liter diesel BMC engine mated to its original 4-speed non syncro crash gearbox. The engine starts immediately – no matter what weather condition. The truck is fitted with servo assisted drum brakes. The beaver tail car truck is clad with genuine Keruing wood bed. The bed has been built with two kicks in the tail to make a smooth ark this is very useful for custom lowered vehicles along with extra long reinforced ramps for extra ground clearance that slide inside the body at the tail of the truck. Also fitted on the loading bed is a very powerful winch; the exact tonnage is not known but it has pulled vehicles in excess of 3 tonne with ease. The truck is capable of carrying a huge range of vehicles be it large, small, low, high, heavy or light. A superbly restored truck which would be ideal for transporting your classic car, tractor, whatever you have prestigious historic motor racing events, classic rallies. Perfect for that period look and extra wow factor.

A real collector’s item and a MUST for any who search a vintage transporter. Comes with original handbook.
Further information certainly on request!

The transporter is with our client in Germany and can be seen and inspected in the region of the river Mosel in Germany.
