The car was built by Jensen Motors and named the Austin Healey 100. The model name "100" was chosen because the car could reach 100 miles per hour. This 100 BN1 model has also been tastefully modified to achieve a more "racy" appearance. These modifications include front and rear bumper removal, extra lights, headlight mesh, and slightly wider-than-original chrome wire-spoke wheels. The front windshield of this car has also been modified to be set in a "middle" position between fully raised and fully lowered. This package includes larger carburetors, a cold air box, a high-performance cam, and 8.1:1 compression ratio pistons. Together, these upgrades increase the car's power to 110 hp. Other upgrades include disc brakes on the front axle for added ease of maintenance. Despite these modifications, the car retains its original 3-speed gearbox. But if you're worried this won't be enough, don't worry. The gearbox has great gearing, and the engine offers good torque. Paired with the overdrive, this makes for a very usable car.
