Description

The Austin-Healey 3000 Mark 3 Convertible is one of the final and most refined models in the 3000 series, introduced in 1964 as a development of earlier Austin-Healey models. The Mark 3 emerged from a line of sports cars that helped define the British two-seater convertible image in the 1950s. As the series evolved, the car was given more refined tuning while retaining the character of a traditional British roadster.

This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark 3 Convertible was produced during the final phase of the model's production run, which ended in 1967 when the partnership between Austin and Healey concluded. This example, dating from June 1967, represents a period when the classic British sports car was facing competition from more modern alternatives but still held a strong appeal among enthusiasts of open-top six-cylinder sports cars.

Built in relatively limited numbers, the Mark 3 is known as the most luxurious and technically sophisticated variant of the 3000 series. Its long hood, short rear end, and beautifully contoured body give it a distinctive place in British postwar sports car history.

Finished in a blue duotone color scheme, this Austin-Healey 3000 Mark 3 Cabriolet has a mileage of 82,888 kilometers. Under the hood is a 2.9-liter six-cylinder engine producing 125 kW (170 hp). This engine is one of the well-known powerplants that contributed to the model's versatile character.

A notable feature of this convertible is its roll-up side windows, which are period-correct and not found on all Mark 3 models. The convertible top has been recently replaced with a modern replacement while maintaining the original configuration. The combination of the Mark 3 specifications, window design, and two-tone finish makes this car a recognizable representative of the late production period. It stands out among British classic convertibles for its technical and visual appeal, emphasizing comfort and presentation in an open-top body.

This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark 3 Convertible offers a final chapter in an important British sports car lineage, featuring a six-cylinder engine, a blue duotone finish, roll-up side windows, and a recently refurbished convertible top. Viewing is recommended to appreciate its condition.
