The Bianchina is a passenger car produced by Autobianchi from 1957 to 1969.
Conceived as a luxurious version of the Fiat Nuova 500, in the first months of sales, deliveries were even higher than those of the cheaper, but also more spartan "Nuova 500."
Given its good success, Autobianchi decided to expand its range and improve its features.
In 1960 the cabriolet and Panoramica versions were launched. The first was a true open car with a canvas top. The second one, based on the Fiat 500 Giardiniera mechanicals, was undoubtedly the version that required the most technical effort: practical, habitable and not without a certain elegance, the Panoramica was produced until 1969, also in a sunroof version.
At the same time that the Bianchina Panoramica was being produced, Fiat, shortly before becoming the full owner of the Desio-based company, transferred production of the Fiat 500 Giardiniera to Autobianchi in 1966.
The Giardiniera, later sold under the name "Autobianchi Giardiniera," was produced in Desio until 1977. Despite the adoption of the "Autobianchi" brand name, it was essentially identical to the original Fiat model from which it was derived.
