Used, 1939 Panhard et Levassor X82 Dynamic 160 Berline This 1939 Panhard et Levassor X82 Dynamic 160 Berline is an extremely rare and unique car just out of a large European collection. This wonderfully solid and complete example would be a superb project for the enthusiast of art deco automobile design or eccentric French motor cars. Chassis 231069 is the ultimate Dynamic, a 98-brake horsepower X82 example from 1939, and it is one of a handful of this most desirable model known to survive of the 114 originally built. The last big Panhard to adopt the complex, smooth-running Knight sleeve-valve engine, and, indeed, the last Knight-powered automobile manufactured anywhere in the world, was the sleek Dynamic, which was introduced in 1936. The car was designed by Louis Bionier, and it featured a seductive, streamlined design, which had shielded headlights that blended into full-figured wings, half-covered wheels, and an unusual triple-pane windshield with three wipers. It was the first French luxury car to feature steel monocoque bodywork, and in its initial form, it even had a centre-mounted steering wheel.
