A truly unique car! We have a reproduction Mercer Fenderless Type 35R Raceabout available. This very special model was built with the original in mind. The original car was specially developed for racing and won hundreds of races including the Indianapolis 500. The Original Mercer had a 5100 cc engine producing 53Hp. The Mercer Fenderless Type 35R Raceabout reached a top-speed of 70 miles/hr. The Mercer is a 2-seater and was known and admired for its reliability, great driving and handling abilities and grew out to become a phenomenon. The Mercer Fenderless Type 35R racing history started in 1910 and tragically ended with a fatal crash in 1914 when the firm withdrew the racing program. Our car was built by someone with a passion for detail. Volkswagen technique provided an impressive mechanical contribution. This is without doubt a very special creation. Mechanically the car is in good order and has great bodywork. This car is an ode to a unique and very important racing history machine! Perfect for promotion purpose or decoration. The car has a two cylinder engine. No registration papers.
