How happy we are to have back this amazing & such wonderful, unmolested Continental with so little miles
A very early Continental version, which superseded the Bentley Corniche, a model run from 1971 - 1984 with total production being only 77 as DHC
So unusual are these, the first of this version of the Continental's, that the instruction manual is still the Corniche edition and titled as such
They are exceedingly unusual as the model year cars for 1986 were fitted with EFi and alloy wheels changing not just the look but also the manner in which they drove - the EFi, especially early versions, were far less refined than the, by now very well sorted, carburettor examples
Our Georgian Silver baby was supplied by Gaulds of Glasgow, as their own demonstrator on 24th January 1985, having been manufactured at the back end of 1984 - the first private owner took delivery the very next day, the 25th January
One can only assume that either, Gaulds self registered to take advantage of some extra margin, or that Mr Tricerri of Gleneagles Village saw the Bentley in the showrooms on the day that it was first registered and insisted on buying it there and then
Either way he loved the Bentley and kept her until 2007 when the second private owner took possession at 7.500 miles covered - for this gem, many well known celebrities have since too had the privilege of looking after her, coaching her up to a modest 18,000 miles!!
Aside from this earlier this year, February 2021 precisely, £15,000 was spent mechanically sorting EVERYTHING. In some cases not for it needing it, but just because.... receipts for this are of course in the file.
She is in simply magnificent condition and to use an often heard expression, really is a "time warp", just like going back to Gaulds' Showrooms, in the glamorously named, Mosspark Boulevard, when this car was nearly new
Supplied with and still retaining the original lambswool over rugs, all large and small tools too, the correct factory Blaupunkt radio / cassette player, flying 'B' mascot and even cocktail requisites to both front doors
A really top specification in her day, this Continental can hold her head up in any modern company, such is the quality of build in those days and the remarkable way she has been kept over the years
So rare are these carburettor Continental's that this is the first I have come across for 20 years - and then to find one in superb colours and with just 18000 miles since new ......... heaven, pure heaven
