Description

The Bentley Continental IV Convertible is one of the most exclusive models the brand has ever built. It was the final model in the so-called 50,000 series, produced in a limited run of just 73 units. This makes it a rare Bentley, even within its already exclusive lineup.

The Continental was based on the well-known Corniche but was given a more distinct character. In the 1980s and 1990s, Bentley aimed to differentiate itself from Rolls-Royce. The Continental was designed with a sportier look, modified details, and an interior featuring its own instruments and trim. It is not a modern sports car but an elegant grand tourer with more character than its refined lines suggest.

Under the long hood lies a 6.75-liter V8 engine paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain emphasizes smoothness and refinement. The Bentley accelerates effortlessly, offering a relaxed driving experience without haste or fuss.

This particular example is finished in Arctic White with an interior in Soft Brown Connelly leather. The light exterior gives the car an almost Mediterranean appearance, complemented by warm brown leather. Originally shipped from California to Marbella, it later came into the hands of a satisfied Dutch owner. Its history of sun, wide boulevards, palm trees, and coastal drives suits its character perfectly.

The Continental has been well-maintained by a specialist and is in excellent condition. These cars were hand-built by Mulliner Park Ward using traditional coachbuilding methods. Often regarded as the last true Bentley convertible, it is a classically built four-seater with a massive V8, lavish leather interior, and a commanding presence rarely seen today.

Only 73 units were made, finished in Arctic White over Soft Brown, with a history spanning California, Marbella, and the Netherlands.
