A Bentley Special, it is in of itself something of a pleonasm for all Bentley's are themselves special cars however the term Bentley Special is widely attributed to those that started life as a MK VI and have subsequently been recommissioned in the style of a pre-war Bentley
We are extremely enthusiastic exponents of such Bentley's and have over the years handled the sale of a great many examples. We do therefore consider ourselves somewhat qualified when it comes to assessing such cars
When we were first approached by our friends and colleagues from Belrose Classics to work together with them as their distributor we were naturally cautious but after visiting their facilities in Belgium and seeing first hand the level of care and attention that goes into each car our excitement was accelerated and we could not wait to begin our association
No sooner had we finished our tour handshakes were had and we had formed a team
The car photographed here is the Speed 6 Blower Special
Featuring a fully operational supercharger fed by twin SU carburettor she produces an impressive 230BHP with authentic whine to match!
Inspired by the Le Mans winning Speed 6 Blower - chassis UU 5872 - of inimitable Bentley Boy Sir Henry “Tim” Birkin, there is no more special Bentley to honour
Although staying true to the original there is scope for you to add your own personal touch too with differing options in nearly every aspect of the car from the radiator shell & headlamp stone guard covers to the more hidden specifications like heated seats and air conditioning
The engine is of course fully rebuilt with hardened valve seals and electronic ignition for modern modern motoring whilst the gearbox too is fully overhauled and you have the option of an LSD to help with the extra power generated by the blower
All the Belrose cars are ready for rallying and the Speed 6 Blower is a favourite choice for many with numerous examples having rallied all over the world in some of the harshest environments and on some of the toughest roads imaginable without a single hiccup
We strongly encourage you to get in contact and book a test drive for the whole car is feel as tight as a drum, having used our demonstrator on both country and London roads we can attest to her surprisingly amenable nature
Be in no doubt however she is pleasingly quick
Our most preferred feature on B 314 SR is the champagne cooler in the side step, I'm sure Sir Birkin would have approved of that, once again if you felt so inclined you could have a bespoke tool book instead (or just about anything, cigar humidor anyone?)
Our local constabulary certainly approve and we're sure that after experiencing her and then tailoring your own car to yourself you will too
