Description

1920s and 1930s racing cars from Bentley capture the imagination. They are cars that cannot be mistaken for any other brand, and they achieved tremendous success on the international circuits. For example, Woolf Barnato won the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice in 1929 and 1930 with a Bentley 6.5 litre Speed Six, making Bentley the first to have managed to win the legendary race twice with the same car.It is just ééone of the long list of achievements of the pre-war Bentley racers. It no doubt makes clear what name the brand already had in those years. A Bentley race car with history is reserved for few, unfortunately. Actually, every enthusiast should one day have the pleasure of driving such a car. With this beautiful Bentley Le Mans racer, the feeling that the drivers must have had back then comes awfully close. This 3.5 Litre Le Mans Recreation is a beautifully built specimen and breathes completely the right atmosphere. The base of this car is a Rolls-Royce 20/25 from 1935 which means that the car is also registered as such. A big advantage because this allows the car to participate in events for pre-war cars. Regularly, these types of cars are based on a more modern base so this is not possible. The technology of the Rolls-Royce has also been adopted, which means that a large 3,669 cc metering power source can be found under the long hood. A six-cylinder inline engine, mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The power source is the same one that is also the basis for the Bentley 3.5 Litre that this car was inspired by.Originally, this car may have been a spacious, luxurious saloon, but now the car is a beautiful classic racing car, based on the magnificent Bentley Le Mans racers from before the war. The bodywork is beautiful and is in optimal condition. Fantastic chromed details contrast beautifully with the dark green paint and the partially dark green leather covered body. The interior, done in the same shade of green is equally beautiful and in good condition. A beautiful wooden dashboard with beautiful gauges keeps the middle between that of a pre-war car and a fighter plane: very characteristic!Driving this Bentley, which has a Dutch registration, does great. The six cylinder with lots of torque does its job without any effort and behind the wheel you get the feeling of 'king of the road'. What a size this car has! It is clear to see that the car has always had top maintenance, the engine, the brakes, the suspension as well as the steering feel particularly 'sure'.We often end with a brief summary of the car but we are almost certain that after reading the above text you are already convinced. Not? Then we would love to see you in Brummen for that final push that you secretly already know you don't need.
