Description

The BMW 3.0 CSL is one of BMW’s most legendary models – a true homologation special developed for touring car racing. This car is a particularly rare example: a right-hand drive 1973 BMW 3.0 CSL with a manual gearbox and its original, matching-numbers engine.

Only 1,265 examples of the 3.0 CSL were produced between 1971 and 1975, of which approximately 500 were right-hand drive. This car was delivered in the special-order colour Verona Red, a shade not listed in the standard colour range.

As a true Leichtbau model, the CSL features extensive factory weight-saving measures compared to the standard E9: thinner steel body panels, aluminium bonnet and boot lid, and notably this example is also equipped with aluminium doors. Additional lightweight features include thinner glass, reduced sound insulation, lightweight carpets, aluminium headlamp covers, Scheel sports seats and a correct 380 mm Petri steering wheel.

The car was purchased in the UK in 1987 by a Swedish owner, showing approximately 40,000 miles at the time. It was later imported to Sweden for personal use and registered in 1994. The same owner retained the car until 2020. The car has never been welded and received an older repaint, which still presents very well today.

A highly correct, rare and collectible 3.0 CSL with strong provenance and long-term ownership history.

We assist with worldwide export and transport, making the process smooth and worry-free.
