Description

The BMW 323i E36 Coupé is part of the third generation of the 3 Series, introduced in 1990. The E36 represented a refinement of the compact rear-wheel-drive sports coupe concept, featuring a modern body, improved aerodynamics, and a chassis tuned for both comfort and dynamic performance. The coupe was introduced as a two-door variant alongside the sedan and was later joined by models such as the convertible and the compact.

In the second half of its production run, the BMW 323i E36 Coupe was positioned as the six-cylinder model in the lineup, below the more powerful 328i and above the four-cylinder versions. It offered a well-balanced combination of performance, equipment, and practical value. By 1998, the E36 was nearing the end of its life cycle, with the E46 already on the horizon. Late models feature a facelift with modified lighting and minor design changes.

Within the collector and enthusiast market, the coupe has secured a firm place, partly because many examples were used in everyday driving and not all have been preserved. An original Belgian car, such as this BMW 323i E36 Coupe, with verifiably low mileage, original paint on most of the body, dealer maintenance, the original purchase receipt, and an early ownership history, aligns with the rarer and better-documented examples of this model. The car is not currently on display at the museum, and the mileage may increase.

This BMW 323i E36 Coupé is styled in the Clubsport fashion, featuring a complete M package including a front bumper, front lip, side skirts, rear bumper with diffuser, thick door trim, M exterior mirrors, and an M spoiler on the trunk lid. The door sills feature M-Clubsport logos. It also comes equipped with a RET exhaust muffler, yellow headlights, and yellow fog lights. The car is fitted with a restored original M-Motorsport wide-body kit with new tires.

The interior has been customized with Recaro Pole Position seats mounted on original Recaro seat frames, reupholstered in leather and Alcantara. The door panels are finished in Alcantara, and the rear seat has been removed and replaced with an Alcantara-covered blank panel. Additional features include an OMP steering wheel in Alcantara, a Wiechers roll cage, an RTD short shifter, and 5-point seat belts. The center console features carbon fiber trim with a VDO gauge panel that includes an oil pressure gauge, oil temperature gauge, and voltmeter. The suspension is equipped with KW coilovers, and the engine features a cold-air intake and a different intake manifold. For track use, different wheels and semi-slick tires have been installed.

The car has a Dutch license plate. Given the modifications, it is recommended to verify whether registration is possible in the destination country if the vehicle is to be exported.

This BMW 323i E36 Coupé combines a late-production, well-documented base model with extensive Clubsport conversion and track-oriented modifications. It was imported to the Netherlands in 2024, has a mileage of 75,329 kilometers, and is available for viewing during the auction's viewing days.

Please note: This car is being auctioned online by Classic Car Auctions. Bidding starts at €5,000 in the Classics Sports Cars auction in collaboration with Classic Park. The auction is entirely online, and everyone is welcome to view the collection during the viewing days. The listed price is the lower end of the estimated value.
