Vehicle history:
Starting in July 1971, the new BMW E9, known as the 3.0 CSi, was on display in dealership showrooms. One of the first vehicles was purchased by restaurateur Hans Albersdörfer from Nuremberg, who had the car registered in his name on October 7, 1971. The original price at the time was 29,440 DM. Just one year later, master body builder Hans Seber from Schwabach-Penzendorf bought the BMW and kept the vehicle for four years before selling it back to Nuremberg. The original cardboard registration certificate is still in existence and documents the car’s early years. Kurt Grießhammer, a lawyer born in 1933, deregistered this BMW in December 1982 and parked the CSi in his garage. The car remained there until a few years ago. Since the body was in very poor condition at that time, the current owner—the son of a former BMW dealer—decided to restore this rare specimen. The initial bodywork was carried out in Poland. The vehicle received its final finishing touches at Schröder, an E9 specialist in Passau. The work is documented with numerous photos. Today, this 3.0 CSi is in good condition and, with a fresh TÜV (MOT) inspection, is ready to hit the road for its next trip.
