This BMW 600 was first registered on July 30, 1958, and is the larger sibling of the iconic Isetta. This example underwent a professional restoration in the past and combines its distinctive styling with the authentic character of a 1950s microcar. The BMW 600 was developed from the Isetta by Bayerische Motoren Werke (BMW). Like the Isetta, it features a large front door but also an additional side door. Its engine concept was derived from BMW’s proven motorcycle boxer engine. Production lasted only from September 1957 to November 1959 – a very short run. Marketed as a budget alternative to a larger car, many were used extensively, worn out, and discarded. This makes surviving examples extremely rare today.
