A Belgian car enthusiast aimed to build a great track day car based on an E36 coupe, preferably an M3 model. He sought a perfectly maintained, accident-free coupe with low mileage. Finding a suitable, accident-free M3 proved difficult, as even a nice 6-cylinder coupe is rare.
In 2018, he found a late-model Orient Blue facelift BMW 323CI in Belgium that met all his criteria: an original Belgian car with verifiable low mileage via service booklets and the Belgian Car-Pass, manual transmission, original paint (except for the trunk lid), first owner, dealer-maintained, and in immaculate condition. The original purchase receipt is included.
The second owner then began transforming the car into a track-ready vehicle inspired by the limited-edition M Clubsport. A complete M package was installed, including a front bumper, lower lip, side skirts, rear bumper with diffuser, thick door sills, M exterior mirrors (power-adjustable), and an M spoiler on the trunk lid. The door sills feature original M Clubsport logos. An original Rheinland Eisenmann Tuning (RET) exhaust muffler, yellow headlights, and fog lights enhance the exterior.
Inside, Recaro Pole Position seats were installed on original Recaro frames with adjustment options and rails. The seats were reupholstered in leather and Alcantara with M stripes, similar to M-Vader seats, by Carmeb. The door panels were covered in Alcantara, and the rear seat was replaced with a blank panel also covered in Alcantara. An OMP steering wheel, wrapped in Alcantara, was fitted, with orange/copper stitching matching the paint finish on the Wiechers roll cage, the center of the steering wheel, and the RTD short shifter (supplied separately or available upon request).
Five-point harnesses were installed for serious driving, with the original seat belts retained for casual use, featuring M-striping on the webbing. Genuine carbon fiber was used for the center console, which includes a VDO gauge panel with oil pressure, oil temperature, and voltmeter gauges.
The suspension was upgraded with KW coilover V2 kit, along with special brake rotors and pads. The engine received a cold-air intake and a different intake manifold. The car was fitted with new wheels and semi-slick tires.
After preparation, the owner decided not to race or rally the car to preserve it. In 2024, the car arrived in the Netherlands through trusted colleagues. We added finishing touches, including a black Alcantara headliner and Alcantara A- and C-pillars. All other interior parts were painted black, including the edges of the interior lighting components. The car was registered with a Dutch license plate.
We felt the original wheels and semi-slicks did not match the car’s style and quality. To enhance its appearance, we fitted the E36 with a restored original M-Motorsport wide-body kit and new tires.
The end result is truly fantastic. We enjoyed driving it ourselves before selling the car at the end of the listing.
