This BMW 1600 convertible left the gates of the Bauer factory in 1970. BMW did not have much experience with selling mass convertibles and therefore left the work to the specialists of Bauer. The total production was only 1.692 cars, how many are left today is unknown. They made on the basis of the “Neue Klasse” of BMW this “voll-cabriolet” and later the world famous Bauer cabriolet’s with rollbar. This is a very nice copy. This car is completely “nut & bolt” restored and technically overhauled. The car is executed in "Polaris silber" with a blue interior. The car is in a beautifully restored condition. The bodywork is flawless with beautiful sheet metal and correct fits. Even the chrome is in perfect condition. The paint is in very good condition without user marks. Of course, the bottom of the car is also rock solid and in very good condition. The technique has also received all the attention it deserves. All hoses and attachments are renewed. When you open the hood, the engine compartment is very well maintained. You can almost imagine how it must have felt to pick up this BMW 1600 Convertible at the dealer in 1970. Even the interior is in very good condition. All carpets have been renewed and also the seats have been reupholstered. It all looks and feels very well taken care of.
