Description

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at Supercar Fest 2026 on Saturday, 16th May, at Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northampton, NN6 0BN.

Introduced in 1976, the BMW E24 6-Series was BMW’s answer to the high-speed grand tourer market. Designed under the direction of Paul Bracq, its low nose, slim pillars, and poised coupé profile created one of BMW’s most enduring silhouettes.

The 635CSi sat near the top of the E24 range. It features BMW’s 3.4-litre M30 straight-six engine, producing 215 bhp when new and capable of a quoted 138 mph.

This UK-supplied, right-hand drive 635CSi was first registered on 19 June 1981. It is notably fitted with the desirable 5-speed manual gearbox. The car is finished in what is believed to be Henna Red, with period chrome accents and a black leather interior. The odometer showed 86,400 miles at the time of cataloguing.

The history file includes the owner’s handbook, MOT certificates from 2012 to 2016, a current MOT valid until August 2026, BMW service invoices dating back to 1987, and numerous parts invoices.

Recent attention includes a replacement starter motor in 2019, a recent fuel pump, and overhauled rear brake calipers.

Acquired by its late owner in April 2017, the car was part of a small private collection and has been largely stored since acquisition. Now offered from a deceased estate, this presents an appealing opportunity to acquire a charismatic manual E24 ‘Sharknose’.
