Vehicle history:
In 1965, Burt Sugarman, a former race car driver, car dealer and later Hollywood producer from Beverly Hills, convinced Italian design firm Ghia to build a small-scale production of the Ghia 450 SS. Only 57 hand-built examples ever left the factory. The 450 SS made its debut in Turin in 1966. It combined Italian charm with American high-volume technology: the technical basis was the Plymouth Barracuda with its beefy V8 engine and the eponymous displacement of 4.5 liters. The price for a 450 SS was at that time 13,000 USD and thus on the level of a Ferrari.
The example offered here has been expertly fully restored. Numerous photos are available documenting the restoration process in detail. A Classic Data appraisal from 2020 attests the vehicle a condition grade of "1" with the assessment "better than new".
